good day sunshine

mickey flowers.. no, really.

i know i said i was done with my vacation recap.. but i just had to share these little magical gems. on the pathway to the paradise pier section of disneyland california adventure, there was this amazing bed of some of the brightest and prettiest flowers i've ever seen.

we stopped a took a little breather so i could experiment with my new camera.. at this point i still hadn't read the manual.. okay who are we kidding, i still haven't read the manual. but i think some of my shots came out pretty great! i picked some of the prettiest flowers to take closeups of.

now, here's where it gets interesting.. as i'm walking around this bed of flowers taking pictures, i noticed a cluster of yellow flowers arranged in a striking resemblance of a mickey head. i flipped out a little {it doesn't take much} and started snapping away.

so, of course it makes me wonder if this is something that disney did on purpose, or do the flowers grow like this on their own? or did disney pick these flowers because they knew that they grew like this? as i looked around, i found another.. this time in deep magenta.

so whatever the reason behind the little hidden mickey flowers, i just wanted to share that little bit of magic with y'all. hope you're having a happy thursday! :)

i literally can't even put into words how much i love disney. it just makes me all fluttery inside..

the happiest place on earth {at christmas!}

it's no secret to anyone who knows me well that i love disney. disney world, disneyland, disney movies, disney characters.. it's a slight obsession, in a perfectly non-loony-bin sort of way, of course. ;)

for those who don't know, i actually worked down at disney world for three months after i graduated college. it was something i'd wanted to do since i was a little girl and definitely ended up being one of the best experiences of my life. i met so many amazing people from all around the world.. scotland, honduras, brazil, china, as well as several states across the u.s. it's something that will always be a part of me, and since i never plan on growing up anyway.. it fits.

christmas is one of my favorite times at disney world. the decorations are beyond fantastic, and the parks are even more magical than usual. this is the photo that lives as my iphone wallpaper during the month of december.. i took it while i was working there in 2008. it's cinderella's castle draped in millions and millions of twinkly lights.

i just wanted to share that little piece of heaven with y'all.. i'm taking a bit of a blogging break as i'm sure that everyone is spending lots and lots of time with family and friends. i'll be back on monday! i hope your holidays are magical and wonderful and spectacular and fabulous.. and lots of other descriptive adjectives too! ;)
