amelia jastrzębska creates the most amazing whimsical paintings of bears, bunnies, elephants, and other precious little animals. i just love the color palette she uses.. a wonderful soft, springy feel.

not only would these be adorable in a child's room, they've also got a touch of classic sophistication and i could honestly see them in any room of the house!

so in love with this screenprint poster from katieblairdesigns.. oh yeah, and did i mention that tomorrow is VACATION TIME? i'm just a tad excited. it's about time i had a grand adventure. if a pirate ship was involved, it would be even better. {you knew i couldn't resist.}

weekend google doodle {constantin brancusi}

art history nerd alert! saturday's google doodle was a collection of sculptures from the romanian artist, constantin brancusi. his simple and abstract sculptures helped pioneer modernism in the 20th century. he created several different versions of each piece in different mediums.. bronze, stone, marble, etc. and as you can see, he was much more interested in the forms and the essence of his subjects, rather than their actual appearances.
