i've always had a love of everything beachy, so this beautiful collection of sea urchin jewelry from star of the east on etsy is wonderfully intriguing to me. the creator of these fanciful pieces hails all the way from turkey, and states in her descriptions, "living in turkey has some big advantages, like the beautiful abandoned beaches with just you, the sea and the blue sky. during our long beach walks, we often find all kind of treasures as sea urchins and shells". doesn't that sounds wonderful?
i almost feel like christmas day is the end of the year.. there's that pesky little week in between christmas and the new year {which i obviously didn't think was so pesky when i was still in school.. sigh. the life of a working girl..}, but i'm declaring a new start.. one whole week early. overachiever? nope, not even close. it's just the simple truth that i need a good week's lead time to prepare my resolutions and get in the mood to rock them.
in fact, that's my overall new years resolution.. to ROCK 2011. in whatever way that might happen. sure, i'm making concrete resolutions {which i'll share with y'all soon} but when all is said and done and 2011 comes to a close, i want to be able to look back and say.. heck yeah, i was awesome this year!

it's no secret to anyone who knows me well that i love disney. disney world, disneyland, disney movies, disney characters.. it's a slight obsession, in a perfectly non-loony-bin sort of way, of course. ;)
for those who don't know, i actually worked down at disney world for three months after i graduated college. it was something i'd wanted to do since i was a little girl and definitely ended up being one of the best experiences of my life. i met so many amazing people from all around the world.. scotland, honduras, brazil, china, as well as several states across the u.s. it's something that will always be a part of me, and since i never plan on growing up anyway.. it fits.
christmas is one of my favorite times at disney world. the decorations are beyond fantastic, and the parks are even more magical than usual. this is the photo that lives as my iphone wallpaper during the month of december.. i took it while i was working there in 2008. it's cinderella's castle draped in millions and millions of twinkly lights.
i just wanted to share that little piece of heaven with y'all.. i'm taking a bit of a blogging break as i'm sure that everyone is spending lots and lots of time with family and friends. i'll be back on monday! i hope your holidays are magical and wonderful and spectacular and fabulous.. and lots of other descriptive adjectives too! ;)
